Who can apply to the clinic?
Every sufferer of Tinnitus, Vertigo, Dizziness or Meniere's Disease can apply to the clinic. The basic criteria for accepting a patient are:
(1) The patient was examined by Ear Nose and Throat specialist, or by a Neurologist.
(2) The patient completed the medical evaluation by performing the relevant objective tests (Audiogram, ABR or BERA, Imaging-CT, MRI or MRA) and came back to the specialist with the results for re-assessment.
(3) The patient did therapeutic trials according to the recommendations of the specialist, or was told that the physician does not have any recommendation for treatment.
Why is there a need to do such a deep medical evaluation for an ear disease?
The medical approach that I use (based on research in the Israeli Defence Forces, “Hadassah Hospital” along with consultants from other scientific institutions) indicates that it is a multi-factorial medical condition.
In every country there are very good experts of Ear Nose and Throat. When a patient is coming to Israel after examination near home, I can be sure (in most cases) that the expert covered all the aspects of the Tinnitus, Vertigo, Dizziness or Meniere's Disease according to the TextBook.
A comprehensive evaluation of the main metabolic factors is essential in order to continue the medical assessment and establish the best treatment program.
Why does every patient have a different treatment?
Every sufferer is different. The medical history is different, the symptom profile is different and the findings in the medical evaluation are different. The individual treatment program is based on all the above parameters.
How do you establish the treatment program?
The treatment program is individual. After completing the first stage of the medical evaluation, I unify the data and discuss the meaning of the finding with my patient. The Tinnitus, Vertigo, Dizziness or Meniere's Disease sufferer is taking active part in making decisions.
What are the ways of treating your patients?<
Since we are talking about western medicine, the basis for establishing the treatment program is the western medical literature. Any – non invasive – way of treatment is applied for the sake of the patient. If a patient needs an invasive procedure he/she is referred to the best specialist that I know of.
Do you apply Alternative Medicine?
In this clinic I do not use alternative medicine. It is a conventional medicine based on western aproach. The patient tells his medical history, there is re assessment of his documents and objective tests, physical examination of the relevant systems and referrals to tests. Alternative medicine is not part of all these.
Do you use Hypnotherapy?
There are patients who study how to apply auto-suggestion (self hypnosis). Most of the patients do not need it. In the past auto-suggestion was the main part of the treatment. Today the usage of hypnosis is limited and used together with the current medical approach: Metabolic Intervention.
Who are the patients that should not come to the clinic?
Patients that may drop out from the treatment-should not come. The highest probability for drop out is in skeptic patients, people who are not motivated enough, those who are not ready to invest time and effort in the treatment, or those who are looking for a miracle: immediate cure.
I sometimes encounter a very motivated geriatric patients who are cooperative, and have realistic expectations. Unfortunately, due to his/her advanced age and dependence on family members who are not as motivated to invest time and money, the patient may stop treatment before seeing any benefit.
